The shore of Ospedaletti is quite another matter. Very steep,
so typical of Liguria, with the mountains ending directly into
the sea and rather deep water only few meters from the coast.
The gulf streams keep the water always clean.
This explains why it won the European blue flag for the clean
sea so often.

Besides numerous coves
where it is still possible to lay in the sun
without being disturbed, there are many bathing establishments,
with a lot of facilities, on both sides of the gulf, to the east
and to the west.

While
entering the green bay, the pebble beaches, with their small piers
and little ponds for the kids, transform into reef, and then,
at the deepest end of the bay, the favourite one for the little
boats, a hidden treasure expects us: a natural fine sand just
a few steps from the water-washed pebbles.
