Its construction began with the blessing of the first stone, on 18th May 1817 and finished in 1824. All the inhabitants of Ospedaletti took part in its construction by supplying free building materials or manpower. The architectonic style is typical of the Mediterranean area and the door is oriented westwards. In the apsis you may see a valuable copy, made by Tomaso Rossi, of the renowned painting by Raphael: the Madonna of Foligno.
